Modelling drug administration regimes for asthma: a Romanian experience

In this article, we present a modelling activity, which was a part of the project DQME II (Developing Quality in Mathematics Education, for more details see http://www.dqime.uni-dortmund.de) and some general observations regarding the maladjustments and rational errors arising in such type of activities.
Szilárd András was born on 26 January 1974 in Csíkszereda, Romania. He attended the Márton Áron High School at his home town and as a high school student he won several prizes at regional, national and international level. In 1992, he entered the Babe
-Bolyai University from where he graduated as a mathematician in 1998. In 2003, he received his PhD at the same university and since then he has been working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Applied Mathematics. His interest is focused on applications and teaching of mathematics. He is also involved in the organization of some regional contests, teacher training courses and summer camps for talented students.
Judit Szilágyi was born on 8 August 1969 in Brasov, Romania. She attended the Bolyai Farkas High School in Tg-Mures. In 1987, she started her university studies at the Babe
-Bolyai University from where she graduated as a mathematician in 1992. Since then she has been working as a mathematics teacher at Bathory Istvan High School, Cluj-Napoca. In 2008, she started master studies in didactics of mathematics. She is involved in organization of regional contests, summer camps for talented students and also in European projects on teaching mathematics.
