ODE without complex numbers: another look

   Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a simple way of establishing the general solution of the linear, second-order differential equation without using complex numbers.


Jozef Dobos received his PhD in Mathematics from the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 1986. He is currently a full professor at the P J Safàrik University in Kosice (Slovakia). Prior to that he taught mathematics at the Technical University in Kosice for more than 25 years. His research interests are real functions theory and teaching mathematics.
